PRODUCT INFORMATION
The Chianti Classico “Ama” is a Tuscan red that showcases the full refinement of the Sangiovese grape. It is crafted by Castello di Ama using grapes from various vineyards planted with new clones of this variety, resulting in a wine that perfectly balances approachability with body—an endlessly satisfying pour that one never tires of. First introduced with the 2010 vintage, this label serves as an ideal entry point for discovering the philosophy of Castello di Ama, an estate long synonymous with the production of exceptional Chianti Classico.
The “Ama” Chianti Classico is made from new Sangiovese clones cultivated in vineyards owned by the Castello di Ama estate. The grapes are sourced from the Bellavista, Casuccia, San Lorenzo, Bertinga, and Montebuoni parcels; once harvested, they undergo fermentation using indigenous yeasts, with a maceration period of approximately 15 days. The aging process follows: the wine spends 12 months in barriques, and after bottling, it matures for an additional 12 months in the bottle. At the end of this two-year period, the wine is ready for release.
In the glass, the Chianti Classico “Ama” displays a brilliant, luminous ruby ??hue. It offers an intriguing bouquet, with fruit notes that gradually evolve into spicy nuances. On the palate, it is well-bodied and balanced, characterized by a pleasant freshness and a finish that leaves a distinct, fruity aftertaste. One of the latest additions to the range from the Castello di Ama winery, this wine is ideal for pairing with game dishes, red meats, and aged cheeses.
Color:
Vibrant red with ruby ??highlights
Aroma:
Notes of ripe red fruits, with a finish defined by hints of spice
Taste:
Harmonious and fresh, beautifully balanced, with a lingering suggestion of wild berries
