Krug Champagne 170emeKrug Echoes is inspired by the musical composition that equates to the aromatic composition of this Champagne, where the conductor is the Chef de Caves. The edition number corresponds to the number of times the founder of Krug has managed to make his dream come true: with this edition, the maison can proudly celebrate 170 wishes that have come true and given to humanity.

The Grande Cuvée 170 ème is made up of 195 wines from 12 different vintages and selected over the last 24 years. The wine is a fine blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The rest of the wine for about seven years gives it that elegance that is the stylistic code of the entire maison, but which finds an even more evident fulfillment in this label. Krug Grande Cuvée is the first and only Champagne de Prestige recreated every year, which interprets and goes beyond the concept of Vintage. The art of assembling wines from such different vintages, in which the Krug maison is the most faithful witness, perfectly reproduces that organoleptic profile that would otherwise be impossible to achieve.

The 170th edition of Krug Grande Cuvée was created starting from the 2014 harvest, a vintage that was characterized by a limited but precious harvest. The final assembly selected the grapes of the year, combined with reserve wines from another 12 vintages. Thanks to the painstaking care and obsessive attention paid to the estates, the grapes were able to express themselves in all their splendor, giving this limited edition a prodigious profile.

Straw yellow in color with golden reflections, it has a lively and exuberant perlage. On the nose there are aromas of tropical fruit, peach, citrus, brioce and hazelnut. The sip is complex, savory and silky thanks to the perlage, and with a very long finish.

Krug Grande Cuvée 170ème Édition is extremely versatile. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif together with an excellent raw ham and aged Parmesan, but also with oysters and raw fish.
