PRODUCT INFORMATION
Produced exclusively in exceptional years, this Riserva represents for
San Felice the maximum expression of the
‘terroir’ of Campogiovanni. Coming
from the careful selection of Sangiovese grosso
from the ‘Il Quercione’ vineyard of about 2.5 hectares,
it is a wine that combines rigor, concentration,
elegance as well as an extraordinary capacity
for aging.
Characteristics Vintage
The winter was quite mild and rainy. The first
days of April, decidedly warm, caused an
early sprouting of at least 10 days; after a
regular May, the summer months were very hot, with
temperatures above the seasonal average, interspersed with rains
that helped maintain an excellent vegetative
balance, avoiding water stress. The ripening of the grapes was
optimal as was the average quality of the wines obtained.
Tasting Notes and Pairings
Very intense ruby ??red color; the scent is
very penetrating, of ripe fruit and spices, cocoa and leather.
Flavour full, austere, with sweet and juicy tannins. Ideal
with mixed grills, game, mushroom-based dishes
or truffles, mature cheeses.
