BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO DOCG RISERVA
Nestled between the Orcia and Ombrone rivers, the Banfi estate extends along the southern slopes of the municipality of
Montalcino, a unique area in the world for its winemaking tradition and culture. Approximately three thousand hectares of property
of which over eight hundred are dedicated to specialized vineyards, testifying to a unique
heritage and production experience. The Castello Banfi wines, sourced exclusively from the finest vineyards
in Montalcino, represent an unparalleled example of Banfi's perfect synthesis
of the most ancient and expert winemaking tradition and the most modern and innovative research.
PRODUCTION AREA
The "Poggio all'Oro" vineyard, particularly suited to its favorable microclimate, is located in the
hilly area on the southern slopes of the municipality of Montalcino.

Light olive brown color; fine, silty loam texture;
very calcareous and skeletal.

100% Sangiovese, from internal selection.

PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE
Produced only in excellent years, meticulously selecting
the harvested grapes.
Maceration takes place at a controlled temperature in combined steel and wood
Horizon vats and lasts for 12-14 days.
Aged in barriques for 2.5 years, the wine is aged in the
bottle for at least 12-18 months before being released to the market.
TASTING NOTES
Color: intense ruby ??red, with garnet highlights that appear
after extensive aging.
Aroma: Intense, enveloping, fruity and spicy with hints
of tobacco and chocolate.
Palate: Full-bodied, austere, velvety, and appropriately tannic.
WINEMAKER'S REVIEW
A jewel of the Banfi family, a Brunello Riserva produced exclusively in great
vintages with selected grapes from the Poggio all'Oro vineyard, where Sangiovese finds its
ideal growing conditions. Aged for five years, just under three of which in
French oak barriques, it stands out for its extraordinary elegance and
extraordinary aging potential.
