Vintage Characteristics The 2021 vintage was characterized by a mild and dry winter. Bud break was consequently brought forward to the end of March for the earliest varieties and the best-exposed vineyards. In the first weeks of April, nighttime temperatures dropped several degrees below zero, significantly reducing production. Fortunately, spring was rainy, allowing the vines to withstand a long, hot summer. Production was low, but as often happens, the low quantity corresponds to excellent quality.
Tasting Notes Intense ruby ??red color. Aromas of ripe berries, blackberry jam, and notes of tobacco and leather. On the palate, it is broad, smooth, and persistent, finishing with notes of fruit preserved in alcohol. Pairings: Red meats in general, game, wild boar dishes, and aged pecorino cheeses.
