BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO DOCG
Tenuta Nuova was born from an innovative vineyard project planted in an area south-east of Montalcino never experienced before and represents the desire to produce a Brunello with great personality: structure, finesse, quantity and quality of tannins, length, drinkability and potential of aging. The soil, the microclimate and the botanical realities typical of the Mediterranean scrub that surround the vineyards are the perfect demonstration of the exceptional nature of the Tenuta Nuova terroir. A very recognizable wine, awarded by the most important opinion leaders in the world: Wine of the Year for Wine Spectator, 100/100 Robert Parker, 100/100 James Suckling are just the most significant examples.

With an intense and bright ruby red color, Tenuta Nuova 2019 shows notes of wild violet, eucalyptus and redcurrant. On the palate the tannins are round and balanced, perfectly ripe and pleasant. It shows incredible rigor and definition, characteristics that make it appreciated even now but which give a glimpse of a great future for this vintage.

The winter was characterized by mild temperatures with rainfall on average compared to previous years. A stable and sunny March and April were followed by a singular May with very low temperatures and abundant rainfall. All these factors contributed to delaying flowering and fruit setting by a few days. June and July were hot and dry with high peaks which allowed the initial vegetative delay to be recovered. The abundant spring water reserves and the hot and stable August allowed the grapes to ripen regularly.

winemaking
Manual selection of the grapes before and, after de-bunching, with an optical selector. Fermentation follows without the use of added yeasts, maceration aided by frequent punching down. Everything takes place in truncated cone steel vats with controlled tempering for 24 days.
