The Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino is the first Brunello in history and, for 150 years, has embodied the vision that inspired Clemente Santi in the 19th century to create his first expression. It is, as it was then, a distinguished wine, with a complex and refined personality.
THE 2015 VINTAGE A majestic vintage where structure, elegance, and freshness combine to create something special. 2015 was a warm and rainy year, with high temperatures from May to August, which allowed the vines to reach optimal ripeness, producing perfect grapes for wines of the highest class. We began harvesting on September 21st. THE ORIGIN The 2015 Brunello was produced from a selection of Sangiovese Grosso grapes from our estate vineyards. THE AGEING The 2015 Brunello was aged for 3 years in Slavonian oak barrels. THE EMOTION The sunny fruit notes in the 2015 Brunello speak of a warm vintage. A sweet and fragrant fruit, without being opulent, dominated by cherry aromas, typical of Sangiovese from the high hills. A fruit that rests delicately on a background of aromatic herbs such as thyme, rosemary, and, lightly, licorice root. On the palate, the mellow structure reveals velvety tannins, followed by the usual sensation of freshness that has always distinguished Biondi-Santi Brunello, ensuring a highly balanced tasting experience. The very long finish surprises with its pronounced savory character—a sign of this Brunello's gastronomic personality. For the first time in its history, Biondi-Santi has produced both the 750 ml and magnum formats for this vintage. ALCOHOL CONTENT 14.5%
