Asili by Giacosa is one of the mythological creatures of Barbaresco, a cru renowned for giving life to embroidered and inebriating wines. Bruno Giacosa is perhaps the legend of Langa, and his recent passing has left an unfillable void in all wine lovers. Immortal bottles those of Bruno, which transcend the temporal dimension and increase the aura of mystery and magic that often surrounds the decades-long evolution of a wine. Classic interpretations, but at the same time so rich in details and nuances, concrete and dreamy at the same time. About 20 hectares of vineyard, located between Serralunga d'Alba, La Morra, Barbaresco and Castiglione Falletto and an approach that has always been devoted to tradition and respect for the land. Barbaresco Asili comes from pure Nebbiolo grapes from a single and historic vineyard in the municipality of the same name. A legendary cru that of Asili, compared by many to some Burgundian Grand Crus for its ability to give life to feminine wines of unparalleled elegance. The interpretation of the Bruno Giacosa winery has always been devoted to classicism, therefore after a careful manual selection of the grapes, it continues in the cellar with fermentations that take place in cement tanks and macerations that last quite a long time, at least 3 weeks. The aging takes place as per tradition in large oak barrels and lasts about 24 months.

Asili descends into the glass with a ruby ??red color tending towards garnet, typical of Nebbiolo. Immense liquid, there is no doubt about it, and you can feel it from the first sniff that draws a portrait of Langa revisited in a feminine key. There is therefore licorice and raspberry, but the scene is dominated by floral flourishes, almost lysergic, that bring to mind bunches of dog roses and violets. The sip does not betray expectations, it is tight but sunny at the same time, like a great Barbaresco, and reveals a perfectly set very fine-grained tannin. Very long persistence.
