Poggio alle Mura Riserva Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva 2013 Sangiovese from a combination of clones selected internally since 1982. A Brunello made from the estate's vineyards, which zoning studies, begun in 1980, identified as the most suitable for Sangiovese. After a rather rainy spring and early summer, September and October were very good, with plenty of sunshine and excellent ventilation. These climatic conditions favored a gradual and late ripening of the grapes, which presented themselves in excellent quality condition, with wonderfully intense varietal aromas and a good balance between alcohol and acidity. The result is a complex and balanced wine, with an intense aroma characterized by hints of plum, cherry, and small red fruits, accompanied by balsamic and tobacco notes. On the palate, it is firm and soft. Excellent persistence. A long-aging wine, perfect as a meditation wine. It pairs excellently with rich, structured dishes such as stewed roe deer, but also with particularly savory gastronomic products such as aged cheeses or cured meats.
